Hyde Pod's Story

May 30

Hyde was an angel to me, I’ve spent the last few weeks trying to figure out ways to honor him and remember what light he brought to me. I’ve taken all the big sticks he brought home on our walks and pulled them together with his leash and collar. Next to them is this saying. It sits above my TV and reminds me of all the adventures we had. I love it!

I have more to share and will post soon…. I have a lot to do to honor my pup!

Wow! Hyde sure was ambitious on his walks!! Those are some mighty big sticks! And I have to say, you’ve made the most amazing wall decoration I have ever seen. What a lovely way to honor such a great boy!

Jeremy, that’s the finest piece of “art from the heart” I’ve ever seen!! I LOVE that you collectedmhis stocks and created this “touchstone” of fun and happy times.

Can’t wait ro see what creative way you make a “memory space” for his frisbee!

The little framed sentiment is such a loving way to pay tribute to HydePod.

You shared such a fun and loving life with Hyde. I KNOW you miss him so very much. The void probably seems unbearable sometimes. The waves of sadness and crying seem like they will never end. This whole amputation journey surrounds us with such intensity on so many levels. The intense fear, the intensity of the initial shock, the intensity of the uncertainty, the intensity of the day to day caregiving and watching every little nuance of their movement are all part of the journay.

The INTENSE JOY, THE INTENSE LOVE, THE INTENSE COMPANIONSHIP, THE INTENSE SPOILING, THE INTENSE FUN, THE INTENSE LAUGHTER, THE INTENSE STICK COLLECTING AND THE INTENSE FRISBEE CATCHING…..yeah, these are all part of the journey too! These are what Hyde wants you to remember. These memories are where you will continue to feel his presence and see his happy smile.

You continue to honor your Hyde in ways that empower, and in ways that make a difference Hyde is so proud of you!!

I’m soooooo glad that yor are continuing to post and conti ue to honor the life of this exuberant pup who touched us all! We love Hyde!

If you haven’t checked out the “Coping with Loss” thread (the thread we all dread), you’ll find so mich dialogue from those of us who have experienced the loss of our loved ones. I hope you find someof thepostings helpful. Nobodyunderstands like we do. We’ve been by your side this whole journey…and we are still here with you.

Hyde Pod lived every single day surrounded by your love and having an absolute ball!!

    Sending love!

WOW… that’s amazing! Seriously, some big sticks! I love it. And I love the framed quote. I know how much that helps. I have made a memorial wall piece for Shelby with her paw print I got when they cremated her remains. It had a tiny piece of fur stuck to it and it’s forever in a shadow box with some of my favorite photos.

But that is truly brilliant to make wall art out of those sticks. And it looks great!!! Totally like something you would find in a store.

What a life Hyde had … he is definitely still in your heart and soul.

    Lots of hugs!
Alison & her Shelby fur-ever in her heart

Hyde was very particular about which sticks he went for… Go big or
Go home 🙂 … I laughed when I hung them to see in comparison of the wall, how big they were. We’d bring them in and leave them on the porch and while I had coffee he’d
Chew his sticks. They were definitely like a trophy to him! He’d show people who came by. So now everyone can see his trophies :).
